Presbyterian Medical Group seeks a Board Eligible / Board Certified Pediatric Intensivist PRN (Per Required Need) to join our established practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Dedicated to family-centered Care, the Children’s Center at Presbyterian encompasses both inpatient and outpatient services for specialty pediatric care.

  • Vital program in an established and growing, dynamic and fully integrated non-profit healthcare system.
  • 24x7 hospitalist and Intensivist services provide 116 beds combined among NICU, PICU and pediatric unit. 
  • 21 bed unit cares for our PICU, CVICU and Pediatric Hematology and Oncology inpatient population. 
  • ECMO Program.
  • Systemwide EPIC electronic medical record system

Responsibilities

Summary

Cares for pediatric and certain young adults in need of general critical care and cardiac critical care services at Presbyterian Hospital.

 

Responsibilities

* The pediatric intensivist is responsible for managing the care of PICU and pediatric CVICU patients.
* Works collaboratively with PICU nursing, nurse leadership, respiratory therapists, nurse case and care managers, care coordinators, pediatric specialists, and other facility-based healthcare professionals who comprise the patients care team.
* The pediatric intensivist leads the above care team in providing high quality, efficient and compassionate care.
* Maintain coding and encounter data standards for completeness, accuracy, timeliness and reimbursement level, including legible documentation.
* Meet and maintain all provider credentialing and QI standards.
* Participate in the development, adoption, and implementation process for clinical standards for pediatric critical care.
* Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, literature review, in-services, and workshops.
* Maintains PALS certification
* Performs other functions as required

Other information:
*Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited school
*Successful completion of a pediatric intensive care fellowship from an accredited school or institution
*Must be proficient in the care of pediatric CVICU patients
*Ideally proficient in the management of pediatric and adult ECMO
*ABP Board certification or eligibility in critical care medicine
*NM Medical License
