Presbyterian Medical Group seeks a physician assistant or nurse practitioner to join our established Cardiology practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We're all about well-being, starting with yours. Practice Highlights:

  • 10 night shifts per month
  • Inpatient care only
  • Opportunity to work in all aspects of cardiology

Responsibilities

Summary:
Serves as an Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) with the cardiology inpatient night service. Provides direct patient care in hospital setting at night.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Total of ten inpatient night shifts per month, starting at 1800 and going until 0700 the following day.
  • Ability to be a part of Subspecialized cardiac care lines including General cardiology, Congestive Heart Failure service, Electrophysiology, Interventional cardiology.
  • Works in concert with the cardiologist in completing admissions and consultations, rounding, and managing patient care during the assigned shift in the clinic and the hospital. This includes initial evaluations (H&P), documentation, writing orders and clinical disposition.
  • Available by phone for nursing unit calls, following up with cardiologist as appropriate.
  • Interfaces with non-PHG physicians
  • Communicates with the Office Point Guard or the cardiologist on call concerning PHG patients.
  • Facilitates the direct admit of patients transferred from other regions if directed to do so by the cardiologist.
  • Exhibits excellent communication skills with patients, families, and all healthcare providers and staff.
  • Performs other functions as required.

Credentials Required:

  • NP or PA in clinical practice.
  • Additional training or work experience in Cardiology preferred.
  • 3+ years of practice preferred.
