Presbyterian Medical Group seeks a Board Eligible / Board Certified Neurointensivist to join our established practice in Albuqurque, New Mexico. We're all about well-being, starting with yours. Practice Highlights:

 

· Daytime coverage only – one week on, one week off

· No night call – teleneurology partner covers nights; in-house Critical Care team provides 24/7 coverage

· 4–12 neuro ICU patients daily, a mix of neurology and neurosurgery cases

· Collaborative care model across ED, ICU, progressive care, and discharge

· Strong partnership with inpatient/outpatient rehab and PMG Neurology clinic

· Participate in clinical pathways, quality improvement, and strategic growth initiatives 

 

 

 

Responsibilities

Summary:
Cares for patients hospitalized for neurologic conditions including but not limited to stroke, epilepsy, autoimmune processes and neurosurgical conditions, with an emphasis on ICU care. ICU management is performed in the consultant role, collaborating with the primary Critical Care team.

Responsibilities:
*Works as a neurointensivist consultant in rotation with other members of the neurohospitalist/ stroke neurology team across the spectrum of care from ED to ICU to floor care to hospital discharge

*Collaborates with other specialties in the multidisciplinary care of neurology patients

*Participates in development and maintenance of clinical pathways in coordination with other specialties to provide highly reliable, high-quality care for stroke patients in alignment with certifying bodies requirements

*Participates in quality improvement work in stroke, general neurology and neuro-critical care by determining key performance indicators, process metrics and outcomes measures

*Provides review of cases referred to the medical staffs peer review committee on an ad hoc basis

*Participates in recruitment and retention of physicians and APCs on the neuroscience team (neurology, neurohospitalist, neurosurgery, neurointervention, neuro-critical care)

Other information:
M.D./D.O. with residency training in an approved ACGME Neurology program. Board eligible or certified in Neurology
Fellowship training and board certification/eligibility in neurocritical care
Current New Mexico License required.
