• Acute Care/Inpatient General Surgery service
• 15 shifts per month including weekends
• Close collaboration with attending surgeons and advanced practice clinicians.

Summary:
Presbyterian Medical Group is seeking a motivated Physician Assistant to join our collaborative General Surgery team. This full-time role offers a dynamic mix of inpatient, clinic and OR responsibilities. The position provides an excellent opportunity to work closely with surgeons and advanced practice providers, contributing to patient care across multiple settings. We are looking for a candidate who thrives in a team environment and demonstrates strong clinical judgement. Interdisciplinary collaboration and commitment to high-quality care are central to this role.  

Responsibilities:

• Full-time position (15 shifts per month, including weekends)
• Mix of inpatient, clinic and OR responsibilities
• Collaborate closely with attending surgeons and advanced practice providers 
• Perform patient assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, order and interpret diagnostics, and manage inpatient care.
• Serve as First Assist in the OR
• Maintain current knowledge, skills and competencies through involvement in professional continuing education activities.

Other information:

• Prior procedural experience is strongly preferred
• Baccalaureate prepared CAHEA Certified Physician Assistant or two (2) years working experience as a Certified Physician Assistant, and licensed by the New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners required.
